Our Company

Aguas de Valencia is a benchmark in water management. Its work and development, always accompanied by innovation and the latest technologies, have marked a turning point not only in the regions where it operates but also in the treatment of a scarce resource such as water.

Aguas de Valencia focuses its activity on the management of the entire water cycle, developing various complementary business lines that generate the appropriate synergies to optimize water resources.

The company was founded in 1890 as Sociedad de Aguas Potables y Mejoras de Valencia, S.A., with the aim of modernizing the water supply to the city of Valencia by building reservoirs, filters, and tanks on the banks of the Turia River. Today, with more than 130 years of existence, it enjoys the recognition and stability necessary to address sustainable growth in new territories and contracts where it adds value.

Currently, it manages all aspects related to the collection, treatment, and distribution of drinking water in Valencia and most of the towns in its metropolitan area. It also manages the Metropolitan Supply System, which provides potable water to municipalities in various Valencian regions. To this end, it operates two water treatment plants supplied with surface water from the Júcar and Turia rivers (La Presa de Manises and El Realón de Picassent).

As a result of its extensive experience and work, Aguas de Valencia has experienced growth and expansion, culminating in the creation of the Global Omnium group, a business organization that has become a national and international benchmark in the water sector. Made up of several specialist companies, various participating firms and various joint ventures in different areas related to water management, engineering and the environment, the group has over 130 years of history dedicated to providing public services whose activity focuses on the management of the entire water cycle, managing all aspects related to the collection, treatment and distribution of drinking water, as well as developing complementary business lines to optimise water resources (supply and sanitation, sewage management, wastewater treatment, denitrification and irrigation management).
