PERTE for Digitalizacion of Water

PERTEs are Strategic Projects promoted by the different Ministries whose objective is to generate change in the Spanish industrial sector and in society as a whole, using sustainability, digitalization, and equality as levers for change.

The Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge has launched the Water Digitalization PERTE, with which it aims to promote the digital transformation of the water sector. To this end, the Ministry is working on a series of calls for proposals in which it will provide €1.4 billion in aid for the digitalization of the urban water cycle, covering both drinking water and urban sewerage and drainage systems.

Additionally, this PERTE is promoting a series of regulatory changes that will require a series of digitalization investments in the short and medium term to control the volumes of water extracted and returned to the Public Hydraulic Domain, the remote control of water supplied to users, the online monitoring of water quality parameters, and the connection of this information to the Water Observatory, among others.

Global Omnium is the leading company in the digitalization of the urban water sector and is making its entire team available to address the Spanish government's upcoming calls for proposals linked to the European Union's Next Generation funds.
